What is Havellux, and what is it used for?
Havellux® is open-cell aluminum foam: an eye-catcher in which every piece is unique. Havellux® adds visual accents. Aluminum foam can be used, for example, for lamps and other interior installations; as a wall and façade element, the product makes a striking feature in architecture. The material is easy to process and can be used in a wide variety of applications.
How does Havellux behave in heat and fire?
The metal foam is temperature-resistant up to 500 °C. Because no adhesives are used, the product is non-combustible and adds nothing to the fire load. With no adhesives in the product, Havellux® remains purely metallic, and this also makes it 100 % recyclable and therefore environmentally friendly and resource-efficient.
Does Havellux shield against electromagnetic radiation and sound?
Yes. The material provides shielding against electromagnetic radiation and sound waves. Depending on the density and thickness of the element, sound waves are damped and distortion behavior in acoustic systems is improved: a property that makes Havellux® interesting beyond its appearance for wall and façade elements and for interior installations.
How easily can Havellux be processed and installed?
Using aluminum foam achieves a very low weight (0.5 g/cm³). The open-cell foam is easy to process mechanically, whether by drilling, sawing or milling. The low weight and easy processing make the aluminum foam easy to install in every application. With no adhesives in the product, Havellux® is also 100 % recyclable and therefore environmentally friendly and resource-efficient.
